Affectionately referred to as “MacGyver” by many, John's motto of “whatever it takes”, is a title he has truly earned from living and working with a level of integrity that far surpasses that of virtually every mortal we have encountered.
Many would also agree that the term “Jack-of-all-trades” would be far better exemplified as “John (Hartmann)-of-all-trades”. John's unique combination of both technical expertise AND artistic talent makes him a tremendous asset to making music and more happen for Rock My Spirit! This incredibly gifted human being comes to us with over 15 years of specialized computer programming experience (mostly self-taught) with Chase-Paymentech Solutions, where he has earned the reputation of “if it is impossible, John will find a way...”.
On the music side, John's “rockin' sax” style has been compared to top artists like Clarence Clemons, Alto Reed, David Sanborn, and Boots Randolph, always adding a little rock n roll and rhythm & blues flavor to every piece he touches. His ability to play virtually every wind/reed instrument ever made also adds a distinctive signature and organic flavor to even the most dance/electronic-oriented Rock My Spirit! piece.
In addition to John's multi-faceted musical ability, tremendous attention to detail, and “find a way” attitude (also learning how to use Pro Tools entirely on his own from the ground up!), he is a highly skilled editor, self-taught webmaster & photographer, and one of the most brilliant and productive human beings on the planet. If ever there existed a solution-oriented, multi-tasking, courageous human being, Debby Kohler most certainly wrote the book and every successive volume thereafter.
With a diverse background in politics, office management, banking, sales, medicine/alternative health, and accounts payable/receivable, Debby's ability to focus, create & maintain order, communicate clearly, and handle any task with professionalism, finesse, and expediency, is nothing short of amazing.

Saxophonist Jerry Kenney is an Iowa native and has been a Tampa
resident since 1980. With musical influences including Art Pepper, Sonny Sitt, David Sanborn and Gerald Albright - and the skill soul of all of the above - he began performing in the Tampa Bay area with the group Breakaway and later
became a founding member of the very popular project Citiheat. The group
received numerous regional awards including “Most Outstanding Jazz Band”, “Best Entertainer/Group”
and “Best Jazz Artists”. Citiheat performed at the Clearwater Jazz Holiday on many
occasions, took the stage regularly at the Pleasure Island Jazz Company at Walt Disney World in
Orlando and was the house band for many years at Brother’s in Tampa.
With Citiheat, Jerry also performed as an opening act for the top names in smooth jazz including Grover Washington, Jr., David Benoit, Ramsey Lewis, Richard Elliot, Hugh Masakela, Tito Puente and many others.
Following his many years with Citiheat, Jerry has performed throughout
the Tampa Bay area with the areas top musical acts including The Dwight Champagne Group, Les Sabler, Synchroicity and Tom Sartori with ongoing performances at the Clearwater Jazz Holiday, The Hard Rock Casino, a multitude of upscale weddings, venues & private functions and a most recent appearance at the 2010 WSJT Smooth Jazz Fest.
In addition to the three well-received CD’s that Jerry co-produced during his days with Citiheat, he also produced a recent CD, “Old School
Days” featuring performances from more than twenty of Tampa Bay’s finest musicians and is spotlighted in both versions of "Up With Your Love" on our CD "MORE".
Pat Close is a professional freelance drummer both
studio and live. Starting at the age of 5 he is still at it 5 decades
later. After 10 years of studying all phases of technique and all
styles of drumming he then began teaching. During that time he also
became a studio session drummer. There he was able to work with
producers, arrangers and writers thereby mastering the art of playing
”for the music”, and reading charts while playing with tremendous feel.
He has done numerous recordings and television commercials. He has
worked with Singer Glenn Leonard of the ”Temptations”, singer/ dancer/
choreographer ‘’Darcel ‘’ from the famous television show ‘’ Solid Gold
‘’, pianist Manfredo Fest and Jazz legend trumpeter Marcus Hampton.
He has been performing club dates, tours,
live concerts and Jazz Festivals with L.A. producer/ guitarist Paul
Brown, Peter White, Allon Sams, Euge Groove, The Rippingtons, Ken
Navarro, Richard Elliot, Rick Braun, Eric Darius and Greg Adams to name a
few, while staying busy in studio sessions as well. His work can be heard
on the airwaves of Smooth Jazz radio stations nationwide and abroad on
compilation disks with keyboardist Allon Sams featuring guitarist Peter
White and vocalist Richard Jackson. Pat also had the honor of opening
the 25th Anniversary of the world famous ”Clearwater Jazz Holiday”.
In
2006 Pat toured several countries throughout Europe & beyond including Italy, Spain, Portugal,
Greece, and Egypt performing shows for our U.S. military. His great
sense of groove, rock-solid meter, feel for ”all the styles of music” and all-around great attitude make him a welcome addition to our projects!

Mark
is a professional musician from Tampa, Florida who has been honing his
craft playing lead and rhythm guitar in working bands for over 25 years. His unique guitar style includes elements of Funk, Blues, Soul and Contemporary Christian with strong influences from the likes of Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton & Larry Carlton. His CD "West Tampa Style" remained on the top 50 Smooth Jazz..com charts for over a year with track two, "Bouncin Back", going to number four on the Indie chart and number thirty five on the regular chart.
Mark has performed in concert numerous times between 2008 and 2010 including opening for "Spyro Gyra". He has performed three times for "WGRV The Groove" radio for their Wed. night Jazz series in Melbourne Fl.
He was proud to perform at the "Clearwater Jazz Holiday"in Oct. of 2010 and perform two of his original songs on "Studio 10", Tampa's CBS station.
Dennis comes to us by way of "Off The Cuff" and has been playing professionally for many years in the Bay area and Beyond! His solid, soulful and funky playing style, great vocal range and always upbeat, fun, positive,professional attitude make him an absolute joy both on and off stage!
